The creation of animation films in Azerabijan began at the beginning of XX century.The first animation film was shot at film studio named "Baku factory".Later, there was another animation feature film which was shot at the same film studio. The creators of animation films were two german and some azeri people(Magomayev,A.Mirzayev,J.Zeynalov) in 1937. When german people were evicted from Azerbaijan the shooting of animation films was stoped.
   From 1956-1960 talanted Azerbaijanan animator Bahman Aliyev came back to his Motherland and organized two-year courses of "Master of animation" together with A.Akhundov and N.Mammadov.
   Thus, the film named "Jyrtdan" was shot in 1969 after long pause.(the script writer Alla Akhundova, the director A.Akhundov, atr director E.Aslanov, the composer O.Zulfuqarov, the camera-man A.Malov) This film ("Jyrtdan') marked the beginning of animation films in Azerbaijan.
   Since that time more than 100 animation films were shot in films studio. These films were prodused by 18 directors.Many of these films were showed in varios film festivals of the world and deserved critics attention.
   Now, there are many new professional animation films makers in Azerbaijan. But becouse of difficulties many of them work in another countries suck as German, America, Poland and etc.
   Past 15 years World animators shot films with a help of computers "Azerbaijanfilm" studio doesn't behing them and begin to shoot films with a help of computers.
