| Art director: Was born in 1960 in Baku, in 1978 he graduated from Azerbaijan State Art College and continued his studies at the Moscow Cinematography Institute with a concentration in film production and design. After his graduation in 1984 he began his film career as art designer and contributed to five fiction films. His film "Yarasa" was awarded with the prize "The Best Art Design" of Cinematography Union of Azerbaijan.He launched his career as a film director in 1990 with the production of "Dedication", a prize-winning animated film that received exposure and acciaim in Azerbaijan and many European countries. His films were shown on international cinema festivals and exhibitions in France, Germany, Lithuania, Russia, Turkey, Turkmenistan, Ukraine and the USA and he got the prizes on "KROK '91" and "View From East" cinema festivals.
Najafzadeh's latest film "Leyli and Majnun", based on the work of Azerbaijans classical poet Mohammad Fizuli, was shown on the state Television in 1996. This film, 165 minutes, consists of three parts. He is the director, scriptwriter and production designer of itAt the same time he works as an artist. His works were shown in several national and international art exhibitions in France, Germany, Russia, Turkey.He is member of Art's Union since 1984, and member of cinematography since 1988. |
