Azerbaijan Republic's State Awards Lauteate, People's Artist Of Azerbaijan, Professor. The first feature film "In This Southern City", prominent film critics as serious, educated audience were captivated. On the other hand it scared the Soviet authoritative executives of that time by the sincere and courageous presentation of life in the republic. The film will be accepted as an innovative leader of the national Azeri cinema and expanding beyond the national - of the young cinema from all the Caucasus. "According to its genre, the film "In This Southern City" is a comedy, or rather tragicomedy of morals and manners. It's important to understand it properly in order not to notice only exotic instead of the exactly shown reality; not to find gloominess instead of humorous, occasionally tough perception, sober rumination.
