Vasif Babayev Director: Vasif Gadjiaga oglu Babayev was born in 1940, 16 September in Baki. In l958 he graduated the secondary school; in 1965 he graduated Azerbaijan Institute of Arts. Since 1964 Vasif Babayev had been working as assistant in The State Committee on TV and then since 1969 he had been main director of Azerbaijan State TV. Since 1991 Vasif Babayev had been the chief of State TV&Radio. During his work on Azerbaijan State TV he created hundreds of programs and projects of different genres, which have been shown on Azerbaijan State TV and Intervision channels. Vasif Babayev is author and director of 40 films. The film "Khuraman" is awarded on an all-Union festival in 1979 (Grand Prize), the film " Widely walks Azerbaijan" is awarded by special prize of all four members of Jury. In different years Vasif Babyev's films "Boulevards of Baku", "The Earth of Roses", "Soviet Azerbaijan", "Sheki", "The Moment of Truth" have been awarded prizes on different all-Union and international festivals. In 1978, 1979, 1981, 1983, 1985 he was included in Jury of all-Union festivals of television documentary films. Vasif Babayev was the founder and first director of Azerbaijan filial of Interstate Teleradiocompany "Mir". Since 1996 to 1999 Vasif Babayev had been Ecsecutive Director of Teleradiocompany "Sara". In 1967 is awarded with the honorable letter of the Supreme Soviet of Azerbaijan. In 1977 Vasif Babayev received a rank Azerbaijan Honored Artist. In 1981 Vasif Babayev is recognized as "Exemplary of State TV&Radio of USSR" In 1995 Vasif Babayev is awarded with the International premium "Umay" In 1999 Vasif Babayev is awarded with medal after Yu.Mamedaliyev.
